night slant - Goodspace Gallery - Gadigal Land
Curators: Monisha Kumar and Mei Lin Meyers
Night Slant is a group exhibition featuring works from 10 emerging artists (mostly!) from COFA, UNSW’s Art School.
Night Slant (as a title) is a tongue in cheek mix up of ‘One Night Only!’, ‘Night Stand’ and ‘Slant’ via Sara Ahmed’s book Queer Phenomenology. This show brings together artists that work across sculpture, painting, printmaking, video and digital mediums.
‘Orientation’ (as understood by Ahmed) brings to mind the ways in which our embodied feeling and experiences pushes us toward or away from certain things, thus slant becomes a creative site for exploring our pathways, networks and connections. For One Night Slant Only (!!) we bring together a lot of slanty works, a slanty queering, AND show love to the stories, communities, and objects which hold us and that we hold in turn.

sinew - Kudos Offsite - Gadigal Land
Funded by Randwick City Council
Curators: Jess Thompson and Mei Lin Meyers
Special thanks to Kieran Butler
Sinew is the fibrous cord which is defined by both its inherent strength and contrary fragility. These tendons resist and extend, a considerate exchange.
In this group show, we articulate sinew as an innate microcosm which is indicative of the impact of structural hierarchies on the body. These artists' practices are reactive, a conversation with themselves, their contexts, histories, lineages and their peers. Through the process of internal and external dialogue, the artists engage in tender reflexivity and consider the societal implications that press them into action.
We are interested in strengthening the sinew, through nurturing and listening to ourselves and others.
